| How to get to HANS? |
HANS is only 135 kms from Mumbai off the Mumbai-Goa National Highway (13 kms from Kolad) and a mere 110 kms from Pune on the Pune-Roha SHW 66 (2 kms from Sutarwadi); the road condition is excellent throughout the year. Being located in the Konkan belt of Maharashtra, the climate is generally warm during the day and cool at night; winters are mild and pleasant. Rains begin in mid June and carry on till mid October - very heavy during July and August.
MUMBAI TO HANS: On MUM-GOA HW reach KOLAD; go 1 km ahead, take a left turn( PUNE 117 kms); 300mtrs U will x a rail line;2kms ahead U will x HETAWANE village; 2kms further U will x WALANJWADI VILLAGE;3 kms ahead U will x DHOKLEWADI village;2kms ahead U will reach SUTARWADI. Turn left( narrow road; small kids on road); HANS 2 kms ahead.
PUNE TO HANS: From CHANDANI CHOWK, head towards PIRANGUT, PAUD,MULSHI. With MULSHI LAKE on Ur right,U will pass the following villages: GONAWADI,PALSE,DHOKALWADI,WARAK,CHACHAWALI, TAHMINI, SAROLE & NIVE. Here continue in KOLAD's direction.U will pass thro dense jungle with a deep valley on right. Watch for blind turns.After 8 kms (appx), U will x DONGARWADI, ADARWADI (on right),KONDEDHAR (on right) ; commence GHAT descend. After 17 kms (appx) end of GHAT, U will arrive at VILLE. Here DO NOT TAKE SHARP LEFT TURN( goes to MANGAON); go ahead 500 mtrs ,turn left towards KOLAD. U will x NARAYANGAON,AMBIVLI,KUDALI & 5kms ahead reach SUTARWADI. Turn right (narrow road; small kids on road); HANS 2kms ahead. |
